This portion of the Cyberpunk 2077 guide explains the best attributes and perks for every playstyle. You have five attributes: body, reflexes, technical ability, intelligence, and cool. These attributes have subsection skills and within those are perks you can unlock. Cyberpunk 2077 has a fluid class system so while you do select your life path (Corpo, Nomad, or Street Kid) you don’t overtly select your class or play preference. Instead, it’s up to you to select the perks that best fit how you want to tackle Night City. But don’t worry, we’re here to help.
The best attributes always depend on your playstyle but here’s a general breakdown of what we recommend you primarily spend your points on when you’re first building your character.
- If you’re playing as Netrunner (Hacker): This means you’re into stealth and hacking above all else. We recommend you send most of your initial attribute points on your Technical Ability, Cool, and Intelligence. This is because Tech Ability relates to crafting, engineering, Intelligence relates to quickhacking, breach protocol skills (lowers hacking cost and makes enemies more susceptible to damage), and Cool relates to stealth, cold blood (increased movement speed) skills.
- If you’re playing as Solo (Mercenary): This means you’re into combat above all else. We recommend you spend mot of your initial attribute points on Body and Reflexes. This is because Body relates to athletics, annihilation (gunplay), street brawler (melee) skills, and Reflexes relates to use of handguns, blades, and assault rifle skills.
- If you’re playing as a mix of the two: This means you like options and just want a good build. We recommend you spend most of your initial points on Reflexes, Intelligence, and Body or Cool. Reflexes and Intelligence give you a mix of Netrunner and Solo styles. Body and Cool are interchangeable depending on if you want to lean a tad more into combat or stealth.
Tip: Dialogue Skills and Choice Impact
It’s worth noting that when it comes to the story you may get additional dialogue options and choices depending on what attributes you have. You’ll see it as having the attribute icon next to the dialogue choice.

Tip: How to Select the Best Perks (Skills) for You
If you go for a balanced build you may be unsure what your playstyle is, and thus struggle to pick an attribute to spend your perk points on. No worries; just let the game tell you! You gain XP within a certain Attribute when you use it. So spend your perk points on your high(er) level attributes because those stats reveal your play tendencies. For example, if Reflexes > Handguns is level 2 while everything else is still Level 1, that means you’re using your handgun reflexes more than everything else.

Body Determines your raw physical power. In addition to allowing you to force open doors, each level of Body (starting from 3) will: add 5 points, add 3 stamina, increase damage with fists and Gorilla Arms by 3, increase damage with melee weapons by 1.5%, decrease movement penalty while grabbing an enemy and wielding an HMG by 6%, increase movement while grappling an enemy and enemy grapple duration by 5 seconds.
Body is broken down into three subcategories of skills which are Athletics, Annihilation, and Street Brawler.
- Regeneration: health slowly regenerates during combat. Admittedly, as long as you’re looting you should have plenty to heal yourself but those who tend to take more damage or just love to hoard items will find this handy.
- Pack Mule: increases carrying capacity by 60. The more you can carry the more you can eventually sell or craft!
- True Grit: increases stamina by 10%. Punching and blocking use this up so if you’re tired of holding back, increase your stamina ASAP.
- Steel and Chrome: Increases melee damage by 10%. It doesn’t hurt to pack a bigger punch!
- Divided Attention: allows you to reload weapons while sprinting, sliding, and vaulting. This is great for running to farther off cover when you run out of ammo.
- Dead Center: increases damage to torsos by 10%. Let’s face it, headshots are hard.
- Momentum Shift: defeating an enemy increases movement by 10% for 10 seconds. This is great for getting
Reflexes determine your maneuverability, in addition to increasing your overall movement speed, each level in Reflexes will: increase your passie evasion from enemy attacks by 1%, increase Crit Change by 1%, increase damage from Mantis Blades by 3.
- Executioner: Deal 25% more damage with Rifles and Submachine Guns to enemies whose health is above 50%
- Shoot, Reload, Repeat: defeating an enemy with a Rifles or Submachine Gun reduces reload time by 20% for 5 second.
- Desperado: increases damage with Pistols and Revolvers by 3%,
- Sting Like a Bee: increases attack speed with Blades by 10%
Technical Ability represents your technical know-how. It allows you to unlock doors and use Tech weapons. Each increase in level will increase your Armor by 5%.
- Mechanic: gain more components when disassembling
- Ex Nihilo: grants a 20% chance to craft an item for free
- Cost Optimization: reduces component cost of crafting items by 15%
- Mech Looter: when looting drons, mechs,a and robots there is a 25% chance of looting a weapon mod or attachment.
- Grenadier: the explosion radius of grenades is visible
Intelligence determines your netrunning proficiency. Every level of intelligence will: increase cyberdeck RAM capacity by 4%, increase quickhack damage by 0.5%, increase quickhack duration by 1%.
- Mass Vulnerability: unlocks the Mass Vulnerability daemon which reduces the Physical Resistnace for all enemies in the network by 30% for 3 minutes.
- I Spy: Reveals an enemy netrunner when they’re attempting to hack you. This can help you avoid overheating.
- Biosynergy: allows RAM to recover during combat. Recover 4 RAM units every 60 seconds.
Cool determines your resilience, composure and effectiveness in operating from stealth. Each level of Cool will: increase Crit Damage by 2%, increase all Resistances by 1%, increase stealth damage by10%, reduce the speed at which enemies detect you in stealth by 0.5%, increase monowire damage by 3.
