When Xbox announced its plans to acquire ZeniMax, one of the plans for the acquisition Phil Spencer revealed is to bring “Bethesda’s iconic franchises to Xbox Game Pass for console and PC.”Now, just days after the announcement Xbox appears to be following through with that promise by bringing in Doom Eternal. It should be noted that some Bethesda games like Fallout 76 were already available on Game Pass prior to the acquisition.
Considering the Xbox first-party games launch day one on Game Pass, it’s easy to imagine upcoming titles like Starfield and Elder Scrolls 6 will also be coming to Game Pass at launch. In the meantime, past games like Doom Eternal will most likely trickle into the library going forward.
