The PC Gaming Show gave Elite Dangerous fans another look at its newest expansion, Odyssey. This new expansion will allow players to step off their ships, walk on planets, engage in first-person fights, complete contracts, and much more.
The Odyssey update will be released in 2021.
Persona 4 Golden
Persona 4 Golden, an updated version of 2008’s Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 4, is now available on PC.
In Sound Mind
In Sound Mind is a first-person psychological horror game with “frenetic puzzles, unique boss fights, and original music by The Living Tombstones.”
DwarfHeim is a real-time asymmetric co-op strategy game that has players choosing classes to help their clan survive. Gather resources, expand you city, and “defeat the constant threat of feral trolls.”
New Blood Interactive Games
New Blood Interactive has announced that all of its games – Dusk, Amid Evil, Maximum Action, Unfortunate Spacemen, Faith: The Unholy Trinity, Ultrakill, Gloomwood, and Super Galaxy Squadron RX Turbo, are available now to purchase or to try out.
Humankind is a historical strategy game due out in 2021, and developer Amplitude debuted a new trailer and is inviting fans to join the Open Dev project to gain advanced access and contibute ideas.
Icarus, the new game by DayZ creator Dean Hall, is a new survival game that takes place in space in new planets. You start in a space station, alone or with friends, choose a mission, and head to a new planet to complete challenges.
Time is your biggest enemy, as it is the only true failure state. If you run out of time, you lose your character and all progress.
However, if you run out of oxygen or get attacked by a dangerous creature, you can be revived and continue your mission.
Icarus is set to be released in 2021 and it will be free-to-play.
Evil Genius 2: World Domination
Evil Genius 2 has players once again taking on the role of an… well… evil genius who is trying to take over the world. Train your minions, recruit special henchmen, send those aforementioned minions on nefarious missions, and take out special agents. This new game will be available later this year.
Godfall has gotten a brand new gameplay trailer and walkthrough. Godfall was also shown at the PlayStation 5 reveal event.
Godfall has a world filled with the four elements – Earth Water, Air and Fire, and features loot-based melee combat.
Godfall will be available on PlayStation 5 and PC in Holiday 2020.
Prodeus was announced in 2018 and will arrive in Early Access in Fall 2020. Prodeus, which is a first-person shooter that hearkens back to the classics of the 90s with modern sensibilities. It looks like a perfect blend of old and new.
Fae Tactics: The Girl Who Destroyed the World
Fae Tactics is a tactical strategy game that will be out this Summer. Players follow a young magic user named Peony as she summons allies, casts spells, and befriends many characters.
Carto is a top-down puzzle game that is filled with charm. A self-describe “chill adventure game,” Carto follows a young girl on her journey home. However, she will need the help of a magical map to get there.
Take to the skies in Project Wingman and pilot some of the most dangerous aircraft on Earth this summer.
Blankos: Block Party
This colorful title allows players to create their very own world and games to play with friends or solo. Players control vinyl toys that they can design and customize.
Everspace 2 received a new trailer at the PC Gaming Show and is still planning on going into Early Access this December. Until then, developer Rockfish Games has shown more of the dogfighting and spaceship action players can expect from Everspace 2. A Closed Alpha will begin on June 15.
Inkulinati is a turn-based strategy game based on the “memes of medieval monks.”
Each unit is from old manuscripts and are brought to life in a hilarious fashion.
Inkulinati has a Kickstarter campaign currently going on with a goal of $20,000. Fortunately, the goal has already been met twice over with 11 days to go and is sitting at $44,630 at the time of this writing.
Remnant: From the Ashes
Remnant: From the Ashes is getting its final DLC, Subject 2923, on August 20. This new content features new bosses and zones for players to explore and conquer and details “the fight to close the final gateway used by the malevolent force called the Root to attack Earth.”
Mafia: Definitive Edition
Mafia: Definitive Edition got a new story trailer, showing the remake of the 2002 classic.
Hanger 13 president Haden Blackman also discussed how much work has gone into this new edition.
“Everything was rebuilt,” Blackman said to PC Gamer. “Every asset, every cinematic was reshot, all the gameplay was completely redone. We’ve kept all the same big beats from the original game, the story is the same for the most part, all the big plot points are there, all the missions are represented, but everything was completely rebuilt from the ground up.”
Unexplored 2: The Wayfarer’s Legacy
The sequel to 2017’s Unexplored is another action-RPG roguelite that sets players free to travel from west to east to destroy the Staff of Yendor.
Unexplored will have a Beta ahead of its launch on Steam and Epic Games Store later this year.
Among Trees is now in Early Access on the Epic Games Store and is a “small vibrant survival sandbox.” Its set in a colorful wilderness and tasks players with cooking, growing plants, crafting tools, exploring, and much more.
Among Trees will be released in Summer 2020.
Potionomics has a similar feeling to Moonlighter, where you take on the role of a potions shopkeeper who has to stock up to help adventurers on their quests.
Part shopkeeping sim and part RPG, Potionomics will have you finding ingredients, haggling, learning new skills and recipes, and trying to get out of debt.
Mortal Shell is an action-RPG in the vein of Dark Souls and developer Cold Symmetry gave fans a look at the Acolyte class at this year’s PC Gaming Show. Cold Symmetry also debuted new gameplay footage, which you can see below.
Shadow Man Remaster
1999’s Shadow Master is getting a 4K remaster from Nightdive Studios. The remaster also includes various enhancements, restored lost content, and improved AI. Look out for Shadow Man in early 2021.
Blightbound is a co-op dungeon crawler headed to Steam Early Access this Summer. Players can choose to play as a warrior, assassin, or mage and comes from Romino Games, the studio behind Awesomenauts and Swords and Soldiers.
Shadows of Doubt
Shadows of doubt is a combintation of “cyberpunk, noir, stealth, immersive sim, and voxels.” You, as a detective made of blocks, have to stop a serial killer from doing what they do best.
The Forgotten City
Step back in time to Ancient Rome in The Forgotten City, a game the originated as a mod for Skyrim. Players must solve a time-travel murder mystery and will be out in late 2020.
Paradise Killer has players solving a murder that only “investigation freak” Lady Love Dies can solve. Gather evidence, interrogate subjects, and find the truth in Paradise Killer.
Set in a fictional version of Columbia, Cartel Tycoon has you building up an empire in the 1980s and dealing with all the troubles that come with that job.
Haven is an open world RPG that is also a relationship simulator. Follow two people in love on a new planet as they learn to build a new life together.
Trash Sailors is a hand-drawn sailing action game that can be played with up to 4 players. The goal is to create the “trashiest sailing team in history!”
Cris Tales is a “love letter to classic Japanese RPGs like Chrono Trigger and Final Fantasy VI.” However, it has you manipulating time both in and out of combat.
Alaloth is a wonderful blend of that “pre-rendered background look” of older RPGs with modern sensibilities. RPG veteran Chris Avellone helped develop the world, and it is scheduled to release this year.
Weird West is from the mind of Arkane Studios founder Raphael Colantonio and takes inspiration from classic top-down RPGs like Fallout and Ultima 7.
“The difference with Weird West, and the kinds of games I like to work on, is the physicality of it,” he said in an interview for The PC Gaming Show. “When you go from first person to top-down, there’s not much difference in the spirit. Instead of seeing through the eyes of the character, you have a chance to run a party of people. You have followers, and more of a strategy view. The exploration is still the same spirit, but with a different perspective.”
A Story of Seasons: Friends of Mineral Town
A Story of Seasons: Friends of Mineral Town first released in 2003 on Game Boy Advance and is now making its way to PC on July 14.
Amazon’s MMO is set to be released on August 25, but those who pre-order will get access to the closed beta on July 23.
We recently got our hands-on New World, and said “If the PvP side of things can live up to its promises it may convert me into a believer purely on the depth and intensity of its combat and inter-faction disputes alone. But until I see more creativity from the PvE side of things or a clearer picture of what the path to end-game actually looks like, I’m not sure it can hold my interest long enough to get there.
Remember Me and Life is Strange studio Dontnod Entertainment released a new trailer for its upcoming detective thriller, Twin Mirror. Players take on the role of Sam Higgins as he returns home for the funeral of his best friend.
The twist in this game is that you have a sidekick of sorts in Sam’s alter ego.
Metal: Hellsinger is a rhythm-FPS game that tells the tale of The Unknown, who “descends into the pits of the Thousand Hells, guns and music blasting with equal intensity, to seek vengeance upon the Red Judge.”
“You can play [Metal: Hellsinger] the way you play a shooter if that’s what you desire,” Metal: Hellsinger creative director David Goldfarb told PC Gamer.” But the most effective way to play is the beat matching, and getting into the song, and be killing guys on the beat, and reloading on the beat, and dodging on the beat. And then doing it with different weapons that have different rhythms—because then you’re in that zen state. So it’s a shooter in lots of ways, and then it’s this other thing in other ways.”
The Dungeon of Naheulbeuk
This dungeon crawler stars Felicia Day and it features a charming style and is inspired by “pen and paper roleplaying games and the dumb shenanigans that they inevitably lead to.”
Red Sails is a sailing game that has you sailing not across the open ocean, but an endless desert that “threatens to swallow what’s left of the world and the people who live in it.”
“We wanted to surprise people and whet their curiosity. The visuals call to their imagination with a surreal and dreamlike vision,” Léonardo Montes of Red Sails Team told PC Gamer. “A desert is quite close to an ocean too; with ripples and dune that can make you think of an agitated sea that was stopped in time. It is also more interesting visually than a flat ocean. We think you can enjoy exploration a lot more in this surreal setting.”
The Last Campfire
Hello Games’ The Last Campfire received a new trailer during the PC Gaming Show and it showed more of the gorgeous game that tasks players with “rekindling hope in an otherwise hopeless world.”
Escape from Tarkov
Battlestate Games unveiled a new trailer for Escape from Tarkov that is focused on a brand new map that is the game’s “biggest and most detailed location ever.”
The Outlast Trials
The latest entry in the Outlast series, The Outlast Trials, is a four-player co-op experience that takes place in a Cold War-era mind control facility.
It still has the classic Outlast night vision look and is sure to scare many around the world when it is released.
Surgeon Simulator 2
Surgeon Simulator 2 is a hilarious 4-player physics-based medical sim game where you must preform important surgeries is ridiculous ways.
This sequel also includes the Bossa Labs Creation Mode that allows you to create your own crazy challenges!
