The sound sample source is coming from a flock of pigeons that will always come and crowd around a patch of the frozen lake. To get the recording, use your camouflage to sneak up on the pigeons and record while they are unaware of your presence.
The Upper East Side sound sample is located among several high rise buildings in a courtyard with several Christmas decorations.
The sound sample source isn’t a temporary festive decoration – it’s something more permanent. Head up to the rooftops to spy a water tower that continually drips water onto the roof below, and record the water dripping to find the correct source.
