Welcome to another week of me saving you hundreds if not thousands of dollars on gaming goodness. That’s right, nothing but ownables—a complete detour past gaming… badness. Case in point: if you own a PlayStation, scoop up Psychonauts for under 4 bucks. As far as well-written, 3D platformers go, it’s a fine one. Hell, I’d go so far as to call it double fine.
Building from the solid foundations of its predecessors, the deluge of impressive quality of life changes and exciting improvements Splatoon 3 brings make it hard to imagine the ink-based shooter series as it was before this. 9/10.
The Quest 2 improves over its predecessor in a lot of little ways, with a few small drawbacks like the enlarged controllers and cheaper strap. But its wireless nature, ease of use, and accessible price still make it a killer VR headset.
Arkane has crafted a world made of ideas linked by meaningful connections; time influences space, space influences tactics, and tactics influence loadouts. Its high-concept ideas around non-linear investigation are implemented with elegance. 10/10.
An enthralling spectacle to behold and an even more exciting one to take the reins of, God of War Ragnarok melds action and adventure together to create a new, unforgettable Norse saga. Impeccable writing, pitch-perfect performances, and knockout action.
