Genshin Impact: Chongyun Hangout Guide – How to Get All Endings

Chongyun is an exorcist from Liyue who’s always on the hunt for evil spirits. Thanks to patch 1.4, you’re able to hang out with him and find out a little more about his personality. This guide focuses on what you need to do to unlock Chongyun’s hangout event and how to get the various endings. Make sure to check out our Barbara hangout guide, too.

How to Unlock Chongyun’s Hangout Event in Genshin Impact

Before you can start hanging out with Chongyun, there are a few prerequisites:
Story keys can be claimed by doing 8 daily commissions. Meanwhile, Prologue: Act III can be reached by advancing the game’s story. Make sure to check out our Genshin Impact walkthrough if you’re stuck.

After reaching the prerequisites, initiating Chongyun’s hangout event is as simple as going to the quest tab, clicking story quests, clicking the second icon on top of the screen, and unlocking his hangout event.

Already have him unlocked? Great! Let’s proceed to the meat of the guide. The endings.

All Chongyun Hangout Guide Endings in Genshin Impact

The hangouts event is simple. As long as you keep Chongyun’s hearts full or do not make any wrong dialogue choices, the event continues. If the hearts drop too low, there’s a chance that the event will end making you start from the nearest checkpoint again. Now, without further ado, it’s time to unlock our popsicle-loving exorcist’s endings!

Goodbyes

Despite its name, it’s not a goodbye filled with sadness. Instead, it’s one that helps a cute little ghost girl in Wuwang Hill. Here’s how I got the ending:

  • That is an admirable job.
  • Test of Courage… Doesn’t that sound like an advertisement
  • Although they all seem farfetched, I’d better not tell him that.
  • The aim is to strengthen the relationship between the two participants.
  • Okay, I’m free now anyway.
  • Perhaps it’s all psychological.
  • Let’s both drink it. If you lose control, I’ll be sure to take care of you.
  • The participants are just here to have fun.
  • They seem to be here to participate just like everyone else.
  • Let me help you find a place to rest.
  • I’ll go get some Cryo Whopperflower Nectar for you.
  • That’s all there is to the Test of Courage.
  • Remember that strange mist we found earlier? I would like to investigate that further.
  • I might defeat the spirit by the time you arrive.
  • She’s a ghost, but she’s also just a kid.
  • I’ll be equally responsible, too.
  • This sounds just like something you would say.
  • I know you better now.
  • Let’s say goodbye to Qianqian

Small Regrets

Similar to the Goodbyes ending, this also takes place in Wuwang hill. The only difference is that the Traveler doesn’t meet the ghost girl and instead opts to leave the place with Chongyun.

  • It’s just for entertainment, you took it way too seriously.
  • Right, let’s head back.
  • Maybe we could hang out together sometime.

Nothing Gained

Still happening in Wuwang Hill, this time, you’re forced to go back due to Chongyun not feeling well.

  • You’re taking this event too seriously.
  • I think we’re intruding on them.
  • Sure, just have a rest. I’ll continue investigating on my own
  • I’m sorry, but that seems to be the truth.
  • You don’t look so good.

Idle Amusement

Deviating from the first three endings, this one only happens in Liyue where Chongyun is forced to play with two children.

  • I get it, that’s what the Vigilant Yaksha fights against, right?
  • The shadow in Guili Plains sounds like it may be a Ruin Hunter
  • They all sound pretty farfetched, perhaps I should just tell him that.
  • Shall I take you to Bubu Pharmacy?
  • That’s an unexpected solution.
  • Let’s go ask him.
  • Since he has a sister, you should probably give him both.
  • Can’t you buy some more?
  • I’m a little worried about you.
  • I often cook for myself when adventuring in the wilderness.
  • Let’s try Mist Flower and Qingxin.
  • There’s no need to worry.
  • Actually, we’ve made some more.
  • Don’t eat them all in one go, you’ll get brain freeze!
  • That’s right, we’re great partners.
  • I have time.
  • Don’t worry. I’ve got you covered.
  • Let me play the ghost first.
  • Who knows, maybe you’ll be good at this.

After this, you’ll start playing hide-and-seek with Chonyun, and the two kids. Here are their hiding spots:

Chongyun is hiding downstairs from where the Traveler starts the hide and seek. He’s overlooking the body of water near you.

Chongyun dialogue:

  • … Why would you hide here?
  • You’re trying to use thaumaturgy to play hide-and-seek.
  • Maybe we could play it together again sometime.

Little Le is hiding behind a big tree near the warp point.

And Dalong is hiding behind the house nearest you, beside a crate.

After that, it’s back to dialogue choices.

  • I want to try some, too!
  • It’s delicious.
  • Seems you’re becoming quite popular.

Blessing in Disguise

We’re going back to Wuwang Hill this time, but for a different reason. This one’s because of a few clues his friend, Xingqui, told him.

  • What if you give him just one popsicle?
  • There’s a ghostly shadow skulking about Feiyun Slope at night. It’s suspected to be a vengeful spirit.
  • Deep in the Sea of Clouds, a marauding demon has been raiding commercial fishing boats and building a luxurious palace.
  • There is a vigilant demon adept at concealing itself in mist. Recently, people have found traces of it in Mingyun Village, Guili Plains, and Yaoguang Shoal.
  • Such… enviable friendship.
  • So it seems the clue was real.
  • It’s your time to shine, Exorcist.
  • You’re very calm.
  • But you still won’t ever see it, right?
  • Hmm, I guess you’re right.
  • I’m just doing my duty.

Can’t Beat This Heat

Giving Chongyun the wrong kind of popsicle results in an unexpected reaction from him… and this event is just that.

  • Let’s try Jueyun Chili and Slime Condensate.

That’s about it for Chongyun’s endings! Take note that same with Barbara, these aren’t the only way to arrive at such endings and some of the dialogues don’t affect the ending at all.

I hope you had fun hanging out and learning more about our popsicle-loving exorcist!
